Dutch in Practice A1
In this course, you will practise introducing yourself, asking and answering questions, talking about family, and much more. Everything you learn can be used immediately at work and in everyday life.
With this course, you will develop your language skills to A1 level. The starting level is beginner: A0. The aim of the course is to reach A1 level and feel confident in simple conversations in both professional and informal settings. Speaking is the main focus. You will learn how to introduce yourself, greet colleagues, say goodbye, make appointments, make suggestions, order and thank, have short customer service conversations, express a (physical) complaint, ask questions and exchange information.
You will also practise essential grammar, such as the present tense of verbs, modal verbs, the imperative, asking questions with and without question words, pronouns, adjectives, negation, and the perfect tense.
We use a workbook with e-learning materials during the course. We work with the book Nederlands in Gang (chapters 1–9, including e-learning), the Lest Best YouTube channel with grammar videos, Quizlet, and the A1 course guide from Lest Best.
Assessment and Certificate
During this course, you will complete tests and assignments in grammar, speaking and listening, writing, and vocabulary. At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate with your results. If your results are sufficient, you can continue with the follow-up course: Dutch in Practice A2.
