Dutch in Practice B2.1
In the B2.1 course, you develop your language skills from B1 to mid-B2 level, enabling you to take part in group conversations, follow more complex reasoning, and give presentations.
Would you like to communicate confidently in Dutch on a wide range of topics? Then our B2 courses are for you. In the B2.1 course, you improve your Dutch from B1 to mid-B2 level, so that you can take part in group conversations, follow complex lines of reasoning, and deliver presentations. You will learn how to give compliments, formulate clear arguments, ask for and give advice, exchange opinions and experiences, describe or retell information, and make small talk with colleagues, clients, and acquaintances during lunch or drinks.
You are already familiar with Dutch grammar, but in this course we explore it in more depth. The focus is on improving your speaking, reading, and listening skills, and expanding your vocabulary – with attention to nuance in both formal and informal contexts.
Course materials:
We use the book Nederlands op Niveau, chapters 1 to 6 (including e-learning), the Studiewijzer B2.1 by Lest Best, Quizlet, the Lest Best YouTube channel, and additional exercises on compound verbs and fixed prepositions.
Assessment and certificate:
You will complete assignments and tests in speaking, listening, writing, grammar, and vocabulary. After completing the course, you will receive a certificate with your results.
This course is intended for people who want to communicate effectively in Dutch at work and in social settings. It is not aimed at the civic integration or state exams. Entry Requirements
This course is for people who want to communicate effectively in Dutch at work and in social situations. The course is not aimed at the integration or state exams. You will learn the basics of Dutch to manage everyday situations in the workplace and in social life.

Due to the pace and nature of our courses, experience in learning a foreign language is required upon enrolment. In most cases, this means English, but it could also be another foreign language such as Spanish. We also expect sufficient motivation and commitment from participants, as well as respect for common values and norms in the Netherlands.

Dutch in Practice
Dutch in Practice courses start three times a year: in March, September, and December. Each course lasts three months. At the end of the course, you can register for the next one, which begins a week later.
